Terms of Service
Last updated 16 September 2026
CulturalPanvel is a community platform for the Panvel region of Navi Mumbai. It brings together local Homepreneurs, music groups (vadyavrund), social groups and mandals, community events, competitions and a shared feed.
These Terms are an agreement between you and CulturalPanvel. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
1. Who may use CulturalPanvel
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you may use CulturalPanvel only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and they accept these Terms on your behalf.
The app is built for the Panvel region. You are welcome to use it from anywhere, but listings, events and competitions are organised around Panvel areas and are intended for that community.
2. Your account
You can sign in with a Google account or with your mobile number and a one-time password. Either way, you must give a real display name before you can continue — the app is a neighbourhood community, and people are expected to be identifiable to each other.
- Keep your account details and your device secure. Activity from your account is treated as yours.
- Do not impersonate another person, business, mandal or group, and do not create an account on behalf of someone who has not asked you to.
- Do not share your account with others, and sign out on a shared phone. Signing out clears cached data and any unsent competition entry drafts held on that device.
Certain abilities — moderating content, managing competitions, administering the platform — are granted by CulturalPanvel and are not something you can assign to yourself.
3. Community rules
These rules apply to everything you put into the app: posts, comments, listings, events, competition entries, photos, videos, names and descriptions. Do not post content that:
- attacks, harasses, threatens or demeans a person or group — including on the basis of religion, caste, region, language, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age;
- is sexual, obscene, or graphically violent, or that sexualises a minor in any way;
- incites violence, communal hatred or public disorder;
- is unlawful under Indian law, or promotes illegal goods, services or activity;
- you do not have the right to share — including someone else’s photographs, music, designs or writing;
- shares another person’s private information, such as their phone number, address or photographs, without their permission;
- is spam, a scam, a fraudulent offer, or repetitive promotional material; or
- knowingly misstates the time, place, cost or nature of an event or competition.
Treat disagreement about culture, religion and local matters with the care you would use face to face in Panvel. Criticism is allowed; abuse is not.
4. Your content
What you post stays yours. You keep all rights you already hold in it.
So that the app can work, you give CulturalPanvel permission to store, display, resize and distribute your content within the app and its services — for example showing your photograph on a listing, your entry on a competition Wall, or your post in the community feed. This permission is limited to running and promoting CulturalPanvel, and it ends when your content is removed, except for copies retained as described in section 12.
You are responsible for having the right to post what you post, including the consent of anybody recognisable in a photograph or video.
5. Listings
A Homepreneur listing, music group or social group is created by its owner and reviewed by CulturalPanvel before it becomes public.
- The details you enter — contact person, mobile number, address, area, services — must be accurate and must describe something real.
- Your listing’s mobile number is shown to other members only if you turn on contact consent for that listing. It is off unless you switch it on. You may be asked to verify the number by one-time password before the listing is published.
- Editing a published listing sends it back for review, so changes are seen before they go public.
- You may transfer ownership of a listing to another member. Both of you must agree, and each of you will see the other’s name and email address as part of the transfer.
CulturalPanvel does not sell anything, does not take payment, and is not a party to any dealing between you and a Homepreneur or group. Prices, quality, delivery and disputes are between the people involved.
6. Events and competitions
Events are listed by their organisers and reviewed before publication. CulturalPanvel is not the organiser and does not run, insure or guarantee any event listed in the app. Confirm details with the organiser before you travel or pay.
For competitions:
- Entries must be your own work, or your group’s, and must follow the rules and eligibility published on that competition.
- Entries are reviewed before they appear on the public Wall, unless the competition is set to publish automatically.
- Submitting an entry means it may be shown publicly on the Wall, in results, and in material promoting the competition.
- Where judging is used, scoring is done by the appointed jury and the declared result is final.
- An entry that breaks these Terms or the competition’s own rules may be removed or disqualified at any stage, including after results are declared.
7. Review and moderation
CulturalPanvel reviews content at three different speeds, and it is worth knowing which applies to what you are posting.
- Listings and events are checked by a person before they go public. They may be approved, sent back for changes, or rejected, and the reason is shown to you.
- Feed posts and comments are checked automatically before they appear. Your post is held for a moment while an automated system reviews it, then published — or blocked, if it appears to break the community rules. Automated review is imperfect, and a person can overturn it in either direction.
- Competition entries are reviewed as described in section 6.
Anything already published can be reported by any member. CulturalPanvel may remove content, hide a listing, restore something that was removed in error, suspend an account, or withdraw the ability to create competitions. Serious or repeated breaches can end in a permanent suspension.
If you believe a decision about your content or your account was wrong, write to culturalpanvel@gmail.com and say what was removed and when.
8. Reporting
Use the report option on a post, comment, listing, event or entry to flag something that breaks these rules. Reports are read by moderators. Please do not use reporting to settle disagreements — deliberately false reports are themselves a breach of these Terms.
9. Notifications
CulturalPanvel sends notifications about activity that involves you — a moderation decision, a transfer request, a competition result, activity on your content. You can choose English or Marathi, and you can turn off push notifications for the app in your phone’s settings at any time.
10. Availability
CulturalPanvel is provided as it is, without any warranty. We do not promise that the app will always be available, that it will be free of faults, or that content in it is accurate. The app may be put into maintenance mode, and features may change or be withdrawn.
To the extent Indian law allows, CulturalPanvel is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data or profit, or for anything that arises out of your dealings with another member, an event organiser or a Homepreneur.
11. Third-party services
The app uses services run by others to work — Google Firebase for sign-in, data and notifications, ImageKit for images, Amazon Web Services for competition videos, and Google’s Gemini models for automated content review. Contacting a listing may open WhatsApp or your phone dialler, which are governed by their own terms. Section 7 of the Privacy Policy sets out what each service receives.
12. Pausing and deleting your account
You can pause your account at any time. Pausing hides your listings, posts, comments and events, and stops notifications. Signing back in and reactivating restores them.
You can also ask for your account to be deleted. Deletion is not immediate: you have thirty days to change your mind, and signing in and cancelling during that window undoes it completely. After thirty days your account details are permanently anonymised, your sign-in credentials are released, and your likes and follows are deleted.
Some things deliberately survive deletion: reports made about content, and the moderation and administrative record, which would not be a record if it erased the people in it. Your listings are not destroyed either — they are handed to an administrator, so a business other members depend on does not vanish without warning. Section 10 of the Privacy Policy explains this in detail.
13. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may change as the app changes. When they do, the date at the top of this page changes, and significant changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use CulturalPanvel after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Panvel, Maharashtra have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
